The Monroe County Local History Room & Museum’s award-winning website, www.MonroeCountyHistory.org, was recently updated with over 110,000 additional searchable entries of Monroe County people, places, events, businesses, and groups. The website now includes over 1.5 million searchable records and photos! Is it time to search for your ancestors again?
This update includes thousands of entries added to the Photo Index (now nearly 27,000 photos), Newspaper Index, Student Records Index, High School Graduate Index, Yearbook Photo Index, Church Records Index, Biographical Index, and LHR Archives Index.
Copies of records and photos can be ordered through the website for a small copy service fee. With the exception of photo reproductions, the copy service fees do not apply if you access the resources in person at the Monroe County Local History Room & Museum, 200 W. Main St., Sparta. Open Tuesday-Saturday, 9-4. Admission is free.
