One of the main methods museums use to connect audiences to history is through artifacts. An artifact is a piece of the past (like a photograph, a letter, or an object) which can tell a story about history—Monroe County history, specifically. The History Room has museum collections because people like you donated them.
If you believe you have an item of interest with a direct connection to Monroe County, please send a detailed description, with photos if possible, to history@co.monroe.wi.us or call 608-269-8680. After careful consideration, staff will contact you for further action if your donation is accepted. We generally do not consider unsolicited offers of temporary loans, nor can we promise to display loaned or donated items.
