The Wegner Grotto is a visual spectacle to behold.  Click on an image below to learn more about the Wegner Grotto County Park.

Paul and Matilda’s Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1934 was the inspiration for this monumental cake model the couple created.
The Wegners, inspired by a picture postcard, spent two weeks constructing this model of the famed German ship the S.S. Bremen.
The "Peace Monument" and "Glass Church" have caught the eye of passing motorists on Hwy 71 for nearly a century.
“One God—One Brotherhood.” The Wegners built the Glass Church to represent twelve mainline denominations at the time.  Over 70 weddings and one funeral (Paul Wegner’s) were performed here.

"Jacob's Well" and "Pulpit" sculptures.  "Jacob's Well" is constructed over the "Spring Room" and the "Pulpit" is situated on top of the "Peace Monument."
The Glass Church received a new roof in 2014.  Each piece of roof glass had to be individually glued on.
Restoration of the Grotto sculptures is ongoing.  Here conservators Ben Caguioa and Ruthie Rolfsmeyer repair the Bremen ocean liner sculpture.
Area students participate in hands-on educational programming at the Wegner Grotto provided by the Local History Room.
Artist demonstrations are part of  "Art Outdoors,"  a free make-and-take art event at the Wegner Grotto County Park each August.
