Monroe County Church Records Index

This database is an index of entries made in ledger books once kept by Monroe County, Wisconsin and bordering county churches. The types of church records indexed here include Baptisms, Confirmations, Marriages, and Burial Records as well as Communion and Membership Records depending on the congregation. Each life event recorded can provide valuable information about the persons involved. Recorded entries may include info about where a person was born, when they came to the United States, their spouse, children, extended family, etc. Many of the church records were translated from German or Norwegian by Monroe County Local History Room & Museum volunteers.
