These interactive programs can be conducted on site at the Local History Room in Sparta or can be brought to your classroom (anywhere in Monroe County).
All programs correlated to Wisconsin Model Academic Standards.
The Local History Room provides most, if not all, of the materials used in the programs, and provides all of its own equipment.
There is no charge for Local History Room programming.
During each program, students will listen to a presenter, look at images, handle objects, and participate in physical activities. Always inform us of any special-needs students so that we may make any necessary adaptations.
Programming is designed to serve an average classroom size of 15-25 students. Other sizes can be accommodated for certain programs.
Please call at least three weeks in advance to schedule a program.
The Deke Slayton Space and Bicycle Museum shares a building with the Local History Room and also provides educational programming (for a fee). To visit both sites in one trip call: 608-269-0033.
